Why did you join the team at ApisProtect?

As part of my Master of Science degree in Marketing, I had heard about ApisProtect through one of my college lecturers. I was so fascinated by the technology and the capability it had to help beekeepers grow healthier, larger hives. When given the opportunity to do my work placement through ApisProtect in January, 2021, I was very excited to see what I could do to help grow this company and help beekeepers around Ireland discover this incredible technology.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The thing I love most about my job is having the opportunity to watch a product go from a prototype to now actually being operational in the hives. Being a part of the journey of getting this product out there into the hives and seeing the results it can produce for beekeepers has been very enjoyable.  I also enjoy the unique experiences working in a Agtech company has given me from filming days at bee hives, to learning everything about the honey bee and their importance in our eco system has been a whirlwind to say the least. Every day is different and that’s what makes my job at ApisProtect so exciting.

Why did you specialize in Marketing?

I have always had a fascination with how people perceive things and how marketing can help people experience new things. Without marketing, the things we love the most, we may never of had a chance to experience it. There is power in awareness and marketing helps create that awareness to the masses.

What has been the most interesting aspect of your role?

For me, the most interesting part of my role here at ApisProtect has been learning more about the honey bee and their huge importance. Before joining ApisProtect, I was aware of their importance but not to the extent I do now. It has now become a huge part of who I am, and a personal mission for me to help my team stop the global decline of the honey bee. Learning everything from the role of the worker bee to the queen bee has been very interesting and keeps me on my toes.
